About Johrei
I am an ordained minister with Johrei Fellowship, a multi-cultural, multi-faith, service-oriented religious organization. Many of our members are Protestant, Catholic, Buddhist, Jewish or have their own spiritual practice in addition to belonging to our fellowship. Johrei Fellowship follows the teachings of Mokichi Okada, whose title is “Meishu-sama,” and whose philosophy came to America in 1953.
We have three main practices: Johrei, a spiritual healing practice; creating and appreciating art and beauty; and natural farming. Our goal is to create communities in which people enjoy happiness, health and well-being, live in harmony with the earth, and work together for the benefit of humanity.
During Johrei, universal spiritual energy is channeled from the giver to the receiver. This universal energy dispels “clouds” or negativity from a person, uplifting them spiritually. Through this process, the person’s higher nature unfolds, and the finest qualities of the person emerge. Acquired toxins in the body are also eliminated, occasionally resulting in pain or discomfort. Johrei speeds up this process, so that the discomfort period is much shorter. There is no physical contact with Johrei.
